Immersive Learning Reimagined

Web 2.0 is tired...

Web 2.0 ushered in new possibilities to connect and collaborate. Each advancement with devices, access, and network speed allowed more people to share and integrate technology in meaningful ways.

We have reached a point where these technologies have matured as far as possible. This is due to the limitations of the 2d realities of Web 2.0.

It is time to move on....

Moving to Web 3.0 does not mean starting from zero.

The good news is that you do not have to leave behind all of the content you have created and leveraged with tools such as Padlet Edpuzzle, Thinglink, Genially and more. Web 3.0 tools such as FrameVR allow you to embed these existing tools inside of a new immersive learning space leveraging the spatial web. Instead of sharing a presentation with your students you invite them to join you inside of the presentation.

Future Proof

There is a lot of buzz about Virtual and Mixed reality lately. In the right use case, VR/MR is a truly engaging, immersive experience. However, it will be several years before this technology reaches mainstream in K-12 education. The good news is that you can build learning experiences today using technology known as WebXR which is available across any device, including VR. So whether your school/classroom includes VR or not, you can get started now to create new learning spaces using the Spatial Web and be ready for any future tools that become available.

The next evolution of edtech

As I stated in the opening, Web 2.0 is tired... As the internet first entered the classroom, the original product to create an engaging learning experience was the WebQuest(circa 1995). With the advent of Web 2.0 social connections as well as tools such as Learning Management Systems and the Google Workspace, Hyperdocs(circa 2013) became the defacto tool of choice for an integrated, thematic online learning space.

I am introducing XRDocs - the next level of immersive learning including spatial audio, 3D models, 360 photos and much, much more.
